The Dan K Show Cup Series Launches
New and Returning Series To Begin In October
The Dan K Show Cup Series will launch with the 2022-2023 campaign, showcasing at least 5 unique in-season Cup games and tournaments spanning the US. These games, created in partnership with many great organizations nationwide, will provide players, families, and fans an opportunity to compete for a title mid-season against some of their biggest regional rivals. The Dan K Show Cup Series starts with the Florida Cup, set to take place in Fort Myers, FL October 22nd and 23rd. This 4-team tournament will feature the USPHL’s four Florida based organizations in a first-of-its-kind single-elimination in-season tournament, with the winners set to take home Floridian bragging rights and some precious hardware. The event hosts, the Florida Eels, will take on rival Florida organizations: the Tampa Bay Juniors, Florida Junior Blades, and Palm Beach Typhoon.
The season’s second Cup Game will move outdoors at beautiful Truist Field Stadium in Charlotte, NC, as the Carolina Junior Hurricanes clash with in-state rival Charlotte Rush. While “Cup” may be in the name, the winners on ice will take home the coveted Carolina Cup Checkered Flag, a trophy honoring the rich racing tradition in the city of Charlotte.
The Dan K Show will then make their way to the 2nd Annual Battle for the Axe, between the Minnesota Blue Ox and Minnesota Moose on January 27th in chilly Coon Rapids, MN. After a masterful performance by Coach Jay Witta’s Blue Ox sent the Moose packing without the Axe last season, Coach Jon Jonasson and his Moose will look for revenge in year two.
One of the most intriguing Cup Clashes, pits the Toledo Cherokee and Metro Jets in a two-day home-and-home series February 3rd and 4th. The Coney Cup (yes, a giant hot dog trophy) will be played for over two-days with the best aggregate score crowning a Champion. These heated rivals will relish the chance wage war on ice to prove who the “top-dog” is.
The final confirmed Dan K Show Cup Series Game of the 2022-2023 campaign will be played in sunny San Diego, CA! The inaugural Cali Cup will see former NHL star and current Owner/Coach Emerson Etem lead his Long Beach Shredders into an intense matchup with their rival San Diego Sabers. Rumors are this trophy will be radical!
