Dan K Show Player of the Week (10/27/20 – 11/2/20)

NCDC Player of the Week

Ryan Willett LW (2000) – PAL Junior Islanders – NCDC South Division

For the PAL Junior Islanders, if there is a Willett, there is a way to win.  Ryan Willett has been a stud for PAL Junior Islanders all season long, but last week he took things to a whole different level!  In two contests last week, Willett tallied 5 goals, including a hat trick en route to a road victory against the Connecticut Junior Rangers.

The spotlight of the NCDC Free Game of the Week on HockeyTV was not too bright for Willett, as he was awarded the fan voted Dan K Show Star of the Game.  The Bayville, NJ is a great two-way asset for PAL and will continue to make defensemen pay when provided time and space.  A spot on wrister and creativity in space will make Willett a good fit at any college across the US.

Premier Player of the Week

Nate Mohr C (2001), Keith Shenkel LW (2001) and Brayden Husby RW (2002) – Las Vegas Thunderbirds Pacific Division

The Las Vegas Thunderbirds have been good. Very, very good.  Starting the season a perfect 6-0-0-0 the Thunderbirds look like a force to be reckoned with this season.  Shining brightest for the Thunderbirds this weekend were a trio of point-getting monsters, Nate Mohr, Keith Shenkel and Brayden Husby.  Between the three forwards they combined for 31 points in just three games, with each skater netting a hat trick.

Overall, this Thunderbirds squad gets scoring a defense from all over the ice.  It is certainly not a gamble to say that this La Vegas side is primed for a run at  the USPHL National Title. We cannot wait to see what ekse Vegas has in store for USPHL fans across the country.

Elite Player of the Week

Connor Vittands G (2001) and Nick Layman G (2001) – Northern Cyclones Elite North Division

In a light game week in the USPHL Elite, the Northern Cyclones made it a point to make a statement with their netminding play.  Winning two contest by a combined score of 12-0, the Cyclones were lead by the stellar netminding play of Connor Vittands and Nick Layman.  The two goalies combined to stop all 56 shots they faced throughout their two victories and have the Cyclones Elite back to their winning ways.  A Dan K favorite, the Cyclones Elite squad will be a difficult out for any foe they face in 2020-2021.
